It provides an excellent opportunity for those looking to break into the industry, no matter your current knowledge or experience.

Analyst Program

Apply to join our Investment Council as an Analyst on 1 of 5 sector teams or our credit team. You will pitch stocks for our $100,000 investment fund and conduct fundamental research. This program will help you learn skills that are used in the industry and we will help you land an internship! 

Open to all years, preference for students in 2ⁿᵈ year and above.

Associate Applications

Analyst Academy Program

Apply to join our Academy Program run by upper-year students. This is a year-long case-based program, to teach you the essential skills required to succeed in our club. Students will learn how to pitch stocks, recruit for finance internships, and top students will be selected for our investment council for their second year in the club.

Open to 1st & 2nd years only. Priority will be given to 1st years.

Women in Finance Accelerator Program

Sign up to join our Women in Finance Accelerator Program to receive an innovative educational program including exclusive networking and speaker sessions from experienced students and professionals. This program will help you break into finance and help guide you to the career path you desire.

Open to all years, preference for 1ˢᵗ and 2ⁿᵈ year students.

Quant Group

Apply to become a Quantitative Analyst on our quant team. This program will prepare you for careers in quantitative finance. Students will learn how to build pricing models and develop algorithmic trading strategies. Coding experience required. This team is under the Multi-Asset Strategies team, composed of Investment Strategy, Quant Group, and Credit.

Open to STEM students and all years.

Events

Apply to become an Associate on our marketing, operations, or corporate relations teams. These teams are crucial to ensuring our marquee conferences, competitions, and networking sessions run smoothly. You will have the opportunity to meet corporate partners and run events.

Open to all years, preference towards students with an interest in writing.

Multi-Asset Strategies

Apply to join our newest team as an Analyst. Join to support the Investment Council by conducting industry research, developing market updates, and monitoring our investment fund. This team also writes and publishes our weekly financial newsletter. 

Open to all years, preference for students with strong communication skills.

Investment Strategy

  • How can I prepare for an interview?
    Read about position availabilities and ensure to prepare for behavioral & technical based questions. Business attire is important, and always be prepared with questions to ask the interviewer. Be confident and be yourself, we are always excited to meet new candidates!
  • What tips do you have for someone looking to join DFIC as an Analyst?
    Show that you have a passion for finance, whether that be reading about finance, financial news, or personal investing. Make sure to read about the Breaking Into Wall Street 400 Questionnaire to prepare for interview related questions. Attend as many DFIC events as well, we do keep track of who attends!
  • Are positions open to all programs & years?
    Positions are open for all years and programs. We place preference for 1st years in our mentorship program but our Investment Council, Research, Quant, and Events teams are open to everyone!
  • Do I need finance experience to join DFIC?
    No experience is required, we look for students passionate about finance and have a keen interest in investing.
  • When does hiring start for DFIC positions?
    DFIC applications for the 2023-2024 year will kick off in early September 2023! Stay tuned to our social media posts for opportunities to get involved.
  • What is the application process like?
    For students interested in applying for the Analyst Program or Research Team you must submit your resume and you will be required to complete a 1-page stock pitch. After completion of the stock pitch, you will receive an interview invite if you were selected. For students interested in applying for our Quant Group, you will be required to submit your resume. If the resume is accepted, you will be sent a coding assessment and if you pass that, you will interview with the Portfolio Manager and Head of Quantitative Strategies. For students interested in applying for one of our Mentorship Programs (Accelerator or Women’s Mentorship Program), you will be required to submit your resume. If the resume is accepted, you will be given the opportunity to interview with a panel of executives. For students interested in applying for Events, you will be required to submit your resume.
