Our Team
Marco is in his fourth year at the DeGroote School of Business and currently serves as the DeGroote Finance & Investment Councils President. He is specializing in finance and pursuing a minor in economics/innovation. Marco recently completed an internship in Investment Banking at National Bank and previously worked at CIBC Capital Markets Finance with the Corporate Banking Finance team. Ariel is in her fourth year at the DeGroote School of Business and currently serves as the DeGroote Finance Association’s Vice President. Her passion for learning involves obtaining a double-minor in economics and sustainability. Ariel has held multiple internships in the financial services industry, most recently completing an internship with Volvo at their financial headquarters as part of the finance and network development teams. Younis is in his third year at McMaster in the Actuarial and Financial Mathematics program, pursuing minors in Business, Computer Science and Economics, and currently serves as the DeGroote Finance Association’s Director of Marketing. He has had an interest in quantitative finance and algorithmic trading since high school, where he designed his first algorithm to trade the Foreign Exchange market. He spent this past summer at CI Investments in Toronto, where he interned in their Performance & Risk department. Younis is also currently working as a Statistical Research Assistant on campus, and is a part of the Mathematical Investment Research Council. Aside from finance, Younis enjoys table tennis and powerlifting. He hopes to make an impactful mark on the DFA and help expand it's presence throughout the McMaster community. Liam is in his third year at the DeGroote School of Business, pursuing a minor in economics and currently serves as the Degroote Finance Association’s Director of Finance. Liam has served on the DeGroote Finance Association all three years of his undergrad, currently in the role of Director of Finance. His goal is to work with other executives on the team to successfully plan and host educational workshops and networking events for the benefit of DFA members. Liam’s passion lies in capital markets, specifically equities trading, where he hopes to pursue a career in asset management. Navodit Kathpalia is in his third year at the DeGroote School of Business and currently serves as the DeGroote Finance Association’s Director of Research. Navodit’s experiences include an internship at a boutique investment bank based out of New Delhi and London prior to starting to school. Rasesh is in his fourth year in Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour at McMaster and currently serves at the Degroote Finance Association’s Director of Logistics. His goal is to ensure the association operates smoothly, keeping in touch with other clubs under the commerce society to help plan and run events. Rasesh is interested in the area of Mergers & Acquisitions, and he wants to pursue a career in investment banking. He also has experience trading in the Forex markets. Pavan is in his second year at the DeGroote School of Business, pursuing a minor in economics and currently serves as the DeGroote Finance Association’s Director of Operations. He hopes to ensure the DFA operates smoothly while helping to run and organize events. Through his first year, Pavan started out as a First-Year Associate with the DFA where he had the opportunity to work alongside and learn from upper-year executives. Moving forward, Pavan is hoping to use the skills and knowledge learned in the classroom and from the DFA to pursue a career in Asset Management. Outside of school, Pavan enjoys playing basketball, reading, going to the gym and hanging out with friends and family.
