1998
DeGroote Finance Association
The Degroote Finance Association "DFA" was founded, the club was focused on events and creating networking opportunities.
2011
Investment Fund
The DFA raised a fund collectively from other students, outperforming the market by 6%.
2013
First Bay Street Mixer
DFIC held the first bay street mixer, DeGroote’s largest annual student-run networking event.
2018
McMaster Investment
Council
The McMaster Investment Council "MacIC" was founded, the club focused on educating students and investing through a mock portfolio.
2020
DeGroote Finance and Investment Council
DFA and MacIC merged to create the DeGroote Finance and Investment Council "DFIC" with a clear vision statement.
2021
Acquisition of Private Markets Branch
DFIC acquired the Private Equity and Venture Capital Association "PEVC", adding a private markets branch under our investment team.
2022
Founding of Quant Group
DFIC established Quant Group, focusing on leveraging programming and quantitative analysis to make investment decisions.
2022
Fidelity Canada Donation
DFIC received a generous $100,000 investment fund donation from Fidelity Canada to start our balanced investment fund.
