Abbie Loshuk is entering her third year of studies in the Bachelor of Commerce program at the DeGroote School of Business. She is very excited to be the current president of the DFA an looks forward to provide networking and information opportunities to students interested in the finance industry. Academically, Abbie is focusing in Finance and professionally, pursuing a career in investment banking. Abbie has received a Certificate of Excellence for having the top performing portfolio at McMaster during the 2016 Stock Options Trading Simulation hosted by the Montréal Exchange. She plans on pursuing her Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation after her undergraduate studies.  This is Abbie's second year with the DFA and she is eager to apply her knowledge of finance and logistics to contribute to the overall growth and success of the DFA in the coming year. Feel free to contact through email or connect through social media!

Currently, Joshua is in his third year at McMaster University, majoring in Finance and minoring in Economics. He is serving as the Vice President for the DeGroote Finance Association and looks to improve the association’s growth and success. This will allow the organization to continue to prove value to members all around the university. Joshua currently also serves as a Portfolio Manager for the McMaster Investment Council, where he covers the Financial Institutions Group. With a robust passion for capital markets and knowledge on valuations, Joshua is well informed about the finance industry. Michael is entering his third year of studies in the Honours Bachelor of Commerce program and is pursuing a minor in Economics. As the Director of Logistics, Michael will utilize his financial knowledge and organizational skills to ensure that events promoted through the DFA will be a success. He has professional experience in equity research and is currently interested in receiving his CFA designation. Ariel Kimber is entering her third year at the DeGroote School of Business, in the Bachelor of Commerce program, at McMaster. As she pursues a career in the capital markets, Ariel will be focusing in Finance during her third and fourth year. During the summer, Ariel was a summer intern at BFL Canada, located in Toronto. This is Ariel’s third year with the DFA, and she is taking a step up from her previous role as Associate as this year’s Co-Director of Finance. Upon completion of undergraduate study, Ariel is looking to attain her Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation. She looks forward to sharing her experience and knowledge of communication and finance with DFA members in the upcoming year. Feel free to contact through email or connect through social media!

Parker McColl will be taking the role of Co-Director of Finance for the DeGroote Finance Association. This will be his third year on the DFA and another year he will help to provide fresh learning opportunities to students. With a focus in Finance and Operations, Parker recently completed an Internal Control Analyst position at Ford Motor Company. He plans to continue to develop his analytical abilities as an executive member of the DFA, and as a co-partner in his clothing brand, CYPHYR. Feel free to contact through email or connect on social media!

Ovini is entering her third year of studies in the Honours Bachelor of Commerce program and pursuing her Minor in Economics. As the Director of Marketing, Ovini will be in charge of promoting events on social media and managing the DFA website. She plans to gain experience in the field of finance, specifically the commercial banking industry. She is currently working towards receiving her CFA designation after graduation. Graham is in his third year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce Program at DeGroote, where he is focusing in Finance and pursuing a minor in Economics. Last summer Graham Worked at CI investments where he gained exposure to multiple different investment products and types of financial accounts. Graham is looking to pursue a career in Capital Markets or Wealth Management upon graduation. This is Graham’s first year on the DFA and he is looking to leverage what he has learned in the past about sales and finance to contribute to the growth of the DFA. Justin is entering his third year of studies in the Honours Bachelor of Commerce program and pursuing his Minor in Economics. As the Director of Operations, Justin will apply his knowledge of finance and strategic planning to support the continuous growth of the DFA. Although he has a love for finance, Justin plans to gain experience in the field of corporate procurement. He is currently working towards his SAP certification, and hopes to obtain his SCMP designation after graduation. Thomas is currently entering his fourth year in Honours Bachelor of Commerce Program and is focusing in Accounting. Thomas interned the past year at Brownlow Partners working as a staff accountant. Throughout the experience he had gained extensive experience interacting with private businesses and their diverse needs. This opportunity gave Thomas the skills necessary for the Director of Corporate Development role with the DFA. He plans on reaching out and connecting with new sponsors this year to support the continuing growth of the DFA. Thomas’ interests include golf, basketball, and traveling. Bridget is entering her third year of studies in the Honours Bachelor of Commerce Program and is pursuing a specialization in Finance and a minor in Economics. This past summer, Bridget interned at GE Capital in the Working Capital Solutions and Industrial Finance division. Upon completing her undergraduate studies, she plans to obtain her CFA designation. Bridget hopes to bridge the communication gap between students and industry professionals to provide students with the necessary tools to succeed in the financial industry. Ashley is entering her third year of studies in the Honors Bachelor of Commerce program, with a minor in Economics. Ashley is specializing in finance, and professionally, will be pursuing a career in capital markets. Ashley plans to pursue her Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and will be taking the level I exam in her fourth year of studies. As the Director of Communications, she will be a main point of contact between general members, and the executive board. This is a step up from her previous role as Associate in the prior year. Over the summer, Ashley worked for a real estate firm where she learned about the different marketing and promotion strategies across multiple channels. Bhavik is currently in his third year of studies in the Honours Bachelor of Commerce Program and is pursing a Finance specialization with a minor in Economics. This summer Bhavik worked at Deloitte in the Management Reporting and SWIFT teams. In the future Bhavik is looking to purse a career in consulting and plans to obtain his CFA designation. Frank is entering his fourth year of studies in the Honours Bachelor of Commerce program, majoring in Finance and minoring in Economics. As the Director of External Affairs, Frank will utilize his three years of experience with the DeGroote Finance Association to improve the club’s outreach and strengthen its relationship with the DeGroote community. Chloe is entering her second year of the Bachelor of Commerce program, hoping to eventually designate her focus in finance. As a senior associate Chloe works closely with the communications and marketing executives, to ensure DFA events and workshops are well promoted throughout the McMaster community. This year Chloe hopes to increase the approachability of the DFA by urging fellow students to attend events and increasing the association's campus presence.
