Passionate for finance and valuation, Peter is currently the President of the DeGroote Finance Association. This past summer, Peter worked as an Equity Research Intern at TD Securities. Peter is interested in bolstering his knowledge of Capital Markets and is committed to helping younger students do the same. In his third year with the DeGroote Finance Association (DFA) and McMaster University, Joshua is excited to take on the role of Co-Vice President. Joshua will be relying on his prior experience and consulting with members to develop the DFA’s long-term vision. Over the course of the summer of 2016, Joshua was a Junior Analyst at Fengate Real Asset Investments and a member of their real estate deal team. During his time at Fengate, Joshua honed his skills in quantitative and qualitative analysis and applied them on a variety real estate projects. Outside of work and studying, Joshua can be found reading the financial news, or cheering on one of his favourite sports teams. As a fourth year Honours Commerce student focusing in Finance, Ranveer is on the edge of stepping into the corporate world. He is an International Student who has served as the Director and Chief Production Officer of a student company in India, where he created a strategic alliance with an NGO to provide employment to the underprivileged women of Khuda Lahora, India. In Canada, Ranveer has exemplified collaboration and innovation in his role as the President of DeGroote AIS, where he led a team of executives to organize various professional networking events. He is currently working as a Customer Service Representative at Scotiabank and aspires to build a career in Commercial Banking. Ranveer can best be described as a calm, poised and focused individual who is never willing to back down from a challenge. He brings an unmatched passion to the team through his resilience and excellent work ethic. Ranveer is always open to connecting with peers and industry professionals. Jainil is entering his fourth and final year in the Honours Bachelors of Commerce program. In his third year as an executive on DFA, Jainil will be assuming the role of Director of Strategic Development. Throughout the summer, Jainil worked at Sun Life Financial as an Assistant dealing with Mutual Funds and other Insurance products. Jainil has also been working towards expanding the recruiting presence for DFA members with firms in the financial services industry and is looking forward to even more success for this coming academic year. Frank is in his third year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce program at the DeGroote School of Business. He is specializing in finance and is pursuing a career in either equity research or investment management. This is Frank’s second year with the DeGroote Finance Association. As the 2016-2017 Director of Finance, Frank looks forward to contributing to the success of the club. He manages the club’s capital and ensures that the club is able to function on a day-to-day basis. Frank is currently completing the Canadian Securities Course and working on improving his financial modeling skills. Upon completing his undergraduate studies, Frank plans on obtaining both an MBA and the CFA designation. He looks forward to an exciting year filled with many great events. Amanpal Padda is currently entering his fourth year in the Honors Bachelor of Commerce Program and is focusing in Accounting with a minor in Economics. Amanpal interned the past summer at CIBC Mellon working as a Fund Account. Throughout the experience he had gained a diverse perspective within the finance industry in evaluating mutual funds and interacting with clients. This opportunity gave Amanpal the diverse skills necessary for the Director of Corporate Development role with the DFA. He plans on connecting with new sponsors this year to support the continuing growth of the DFA as well as enhancing the student experience. Abbie Loshuk is entering her second year of studies in the Bachelor of Commerce program at the DeGroote School of Business. Academically, Abbie is focusing in Finance and professionally, pursuing a career in investment banking. Abbie recently received a Certificate of Excellence for having the top performing portfolio at McMaster during the 2016 Stock Options Trading Simulation hosted bu the Montréal Exchange. She plans on pursuing her Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation after her undergraduate studies. This is Abbie's first year with the DFA and she is eager to apply her knowledge of finance and logistics to contribute to the overall growth and success of the DFA in the coming year. Joshua Ajao is entering his second year in the Bachelor of Commerce program and is looking to focus on Finance at the Degroote School of Business. As the 2016-2017 Director of Marketing, Joshua is extremely passionate about developing the DFA brand and brings a lot of enthusiasm to the role. He preserves relations with all DFA members and sponsors and provides association’s presence at McMaster’s club events, networking events, student and other Universities’ conferences. Joshua is currently completing his Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and he plans of pursuing his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation upon completion of his undergraduate studies. Parker McColl is entering his second year of studies in the Bachelor of Commerce program at the DeGroote School of Business. In Parker’s second year with the DeGroote Finance Association, he will assume the role of Director of Operations and plans on utilizing his role to grow the reputation of the DFA on campus. Throughout his first-year at McMaster University, Parker has sought a variety of experiential learning opportunities. This included travelling with Me To We to Ecuador and the Amazon Rainforest as part of a mission to develop medical infrastructure in remote communities. Additionally, Parker will assume the role as Corporate Development Director for the 2016 Backpack to Briefcases Conference, introducing incoming commerce students to the various career opportunities in business. Seeking an experience related to his study focus, Parker placed 1st in the inaugural Finance Case Competition at McMaster University. Parker is also planning on participating in an international exchange to Warwick University in England during his third year. Ariel Kimber is entering her second year at the DeGroote School of Business, in the Bachelor of Commerce program, at McMaster. As she pursues a career in the capital markets, Ariel will be focusing in Finance during her third and fourth year. During the summer, Ariel was a summer intern at BFL Canada, located in Toronto. This is Ariel’s second year with the DFA, and she is taking a step up from her previous role as Associate as this year’s Director of Communications. Upon completion of undergraduate study, Ariel is looking to attain her Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation.
